Nintendo confirms next-generation Wii launching in 2012 - Gadgets

Nintendo has confirmed that it is to release a sucessor to its popular motion-sensing Wii gaming console in 2012, debuting the system at this year’s E3 gaming expo in June.

In a press release [PDF] on its Japanese site , Nintendo detailed the sales of the first-generation console, notifying investors of its plans to introduce a new system to rival those of Microsoft and Sony:

Nintendo Co., Ltd. has decided to launch in 2012 a system to succeed Wii, which the company has sold 86.01 million units on a consolidated shipment basis between its launch in 2006 and the end of March 2011.

We will show a playable model of the new system and announce more specifications at the E3 Expo, which will be held June 7-9, 2011, in Los Angeles.

Sales of this new system have not been included in the financial forecasts announced today for the fiscal term ending March 2012.

Slashgear predicts the next-generation Nintendo Wii – known as the Nintendo Wii 2 in various reports – will launch after March 2012 given the fact that the new console has not been included in the company’s current financial forecasts.

Nintendo has battled with increasing sales of its Wii console over the past year, falling behind sales of Microsoft’s Xbox and Sony’s PlayStation. Sales of Microsoft’s Kinect accessory, which allows players to interact wirelessly and without a controller, recently passed 10 million units, making it the fastest selling consumer gadget of all time.

Designer Yves Behar has revealed his latest concept design for the now-aiming-for-$75 vision, and it’s all screen. Keeping with the newfound trend toward tablets, the XO-3 is an 8.5 x 11 touchscreen, coupled with a little folding ring in the corner for grip and a camera in the back.

To keep things minimal the plan is to use Palm Pre-style induction charging, and less than a watt of power to keep an “8 gigaherz [sic]” (800MHz?) processor and a Pixel Qi screen powered. At half the thickness of an iPhone, this vision is obviously banking heavily on presumed technology advances by 2012 (the projected release date), but it’s not too hard to see somebody making this form factor happen by then-ish.

Nick Neg isn’t all hubris, however: “Sure, if I were a commercial entity coming to you for investment, and I’d made the projections I had in the past, you wouldn’t invest again, but we’re not a commercial operation. If we only achieve half of what we’re setting out to do, it could have very big consequences.”

CBCS collections is a collection agency (CA) which claims to provide excellent customer service. However, consumers who have dealt with this agency have certain complaints against them.

The complaints against this company are varied. Read through the sections below to know the complaints against them:

• Calling the wrong person: The CA is said to harass consumers even though they are not responsible for any CBCS collections debt. For instance, a customer complains that the CA called him for his daughter's debt and continued their harassment over the phone even after he told them that his daughter does not stay with him. 
• Collection on a non-existent account: A customer alleges that the CA claimed that she owed US Bank $175. But she says she never had an account with US bank. The representative who called her was very rude and asked her to pay a settlement fee of $57 immediately! The customer refused to do so straightaway. 
• Collection of bills which are paid off: The collection agency is also accused of collecting on accounts which have already been paid off. A person says he paid off an outstanding bill in full by making payments of over $700 to the agency. But the company called him again a few months later and demanded $50. They kept calling him and sent him letters demanding more money even after he paid off the bill!
• Asking for personal information: A customer complains that the company asks for personal and sensitive information from the consumers. He says he had to provide last four digits of his Social Security Number to talk to a representative of this company. He was then told to fill out a specific form with all the personal information. When he contacted his original creditor, he found out that the debt, which CBCS claimed he owed, did not even exist in the creditor's records!
  The customer also adds that there are no CBCS Collections phone number and proper physical address mentioned on the collection agency's website. He thinks this is a clear sign of CBCS Collections being a scam company.
